The
Camrose Regional Exhibition has played an integral role
in the City of Camrose and the surrounding rural area since
1908. Formed under the Agricultural Societies Ordinance,
the original objective of the Exhibition was to encourage
improvements in agriculture, horticulture and homemaking
and thereby improve the quality of life in the agricultural
community. To meet this objective the Society established
From these simple beginnings the Camrose Regional Exhibition
(CRE) has evolved into a dynamic organization that provides
a variety of programs & services. The CRE is the largest

To provide facilities and services to the Agriculture,
Recreation, and Education industries and to support the
continued growth and development of rural and urban Alberta.
Organizational Structure
The Camrose Regional Exhibition is governed by a 18 member
board of directors, 15 who are elected from the membership
and 3 who are appointed. The three who are appointed represent
the following organizations: The City of Camrose (Alderman),
The County of Camrose (Counsellor), and The Camrose Chamber
of Commerce (Director). The President and the Executive
are elected from within the board of directors by the board
of directors. All managerial duties are carried out by the
General Manager, Wynn McLean, who reports directly to the
President.
Staff and Management
The Camrose Regional Exhibition is the proud employer of
16 full-time staff. The CRE is led by the General Manager
(Wynn McLean) and his management group. Management group
members include Tammy Wollman - Finance. The management
group is supported by a training & special projects
coordinator, a catering coordinator, an event coordinators
and an administrative assistant. The operations crew consists
of nine dedicated men and women.
Major Programs and Events
The CRE operates virtually 365 days
a year with more than 350 days spent hosting events and
programs. On many of the 350 days there are multiple activities
taking place. During the course of a year, between 250,000
and 300,00 people visit the CRE site to take advantage of
the programs and events that are offered. The Exhibition
produces and facilitates approximately 1200 events, training
and program days annually.
Volunteers
The CRE is a volunteer-based organization that is wholly
dependent on the availability of large numbers of dedicated,
skilled volunteers. The CRE annually accesses the services
of approximately 2000 volunteers. These volunteers are involved
at all levels within the organization.
Our Board of Directors, as well as our major event committees
are made up of members of the community who contribute their
time and expertise. Other volunteers dedicate their services
in areas such as hospitality provision, operational assistance,
event production and gaming.
